As of 2014, the VA estimates that there are about 22 million veterans in the US population. Add in those currently serving, and it equals about 8% of the population. There are so many excellent stories of service, sacrifice and heroism for the cause of freedom, both here in America and around the world. A most compelling one is now playing in threatres: “Hacksaw Ridge”. Others include “Flags of Our Fathers”, “Unbroken” and “We Were Soldiers Once, and Young”. Both in print and on film, they’re all worth time spent.
